Meet Miss Connell

Hi! My name is Lauren Connell and I teach 3rd grade. This is my second year teaching at St. Alexander School. Previously, I co-taught elementary Special Education, and 4th grade last year at St. Alexander.

I graduated from Carthage College with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English. I student taught in both second grade and 7th grade.

As a teacher, I want to help my student’s progress, inspire creativity, change, and grow as individuals. My job as an educator is to make sure that my students are reaching their highest potential and achieving their highest goals. I believe in learning by doing and engaging students throughout the day to be active participants in their education. I get to know my children for who they are and what they love so that I can bring that into my classroom. I challenge my students to strive for more and encourage them to go above and beyond what is asked from them. It is important for me to use technology in my classroom to engage the students in what we are learning using videos, interactive quizes, games, and progress monitering. In addition to our core subjects, we focus on our love for God and following the way of Jesus everyday.
